Since many years I make
wedding dresses as one-off productions, and high class Replica
of nobel medieval garments (also clothes of the people).
In doing so, I set value on: - good investigation (authentic Replica), - high quality of the materials (most german drapery), - good consulting (how should your wedding gown look like / or, what was really worn in the medieval times), - individuel made to measure (each garment will be made accurately to your personall measures), - high quality single unit-production, which will be made exactly to your desires - manifold possibilitys of designing (embroidery, heraldic emblems, brocade, borders, dividet in different colours, godets of other materials, lacings, combinations and extras like dags "Zaddeln" and much more) - plenty of possibilitys of styles (from the early
medieval times on to other epoches or modern) - for different occasions like marriages, medieval festivals, film equipment, opera and much more! |
Greetings! Welcome to our medieval website! Our History is fascinating and interesting. From Antiquity through the Middle Ages to the Present Time has bestowed us with an inexhaustible abundance of events and happenings that deserve our consideration. Each era and each culture marked its own world, but they unite in the context of our History. The different facettes of History - be they rulers, kings, emperors or knights, noblemen, folk, but also the music, art, literature, architecture, the cuisine and drinking culture, the dances, manners and beliefs, and also the garments of the people - make every epoch unique and colourful. To experience culture, to make History come alive, to awaken the memory of all its diversities, that is our ambition. It is marvellous to live in "the old world". Primarily we concentrate on the Middle Ages. Knighthood, tournaments, heraldry, banners, flags, cavalry, artfully forged swords, chain mail, shields, daggers, armour, and weapons. Fragrant roses, lilies, brides, maidens, princes and princesses. Weavers, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, soldiers, mercenaries, charlatans, monks, clowns, heralds, artists and musicians. Schalmei's, bagpipes and fanfares. Chests, gold, finery, jewellery, crowns, silver, amber, pearls and gems. Spiced wine, candied fruit, wine, mede and supposedly healing concoctions. Peasants, craftsmen, knights, crusades, gallantry, art, book painting and miniature painting. Superstitions, monasteries and towns, ctiy walls, dungeons, churches and domes, towers, oriels, fields, dark forests, castles, strongholds and cloisters. Ships, seafarers, pirates, beggars and traders. Fragrant herbs, spices and incense. Carpets, silk and oriental or byzantine brocade. Carpet weaving, embroidery, fabrics like velvet, linen and wool. Magnificent coronation ceremonies, grand banquets, weddings, dances, theatres, folly, stage plays, singing and minnesingers. All this and much more is part of what is called the Dark Age. With our work we convey a part of this time into our Presence, also bringing the colourful and bright sides of this era back to memory. Especially as an artist it gives me great pleasure to revive a few delightful moments and things out of this time.Besides creating historical clothing and garments, I also paint and write poetry. On this medieval website however, the emphasis is on clothing and garments. Whether you are looking for medieval clothing to wear on medieval events, festivals and markets or if you are planning a medieval wedding and want to marry in a historical wedding gown, for historically interested people I offer the appropriate garments, and for historical weddings wedding gowns. Costume rental is also possible. For instance, if you need costumes for the wedding company and bridesmaids or for an event, contact us! For reenactors we have a plentitude of garments, be it a tunic, a surcotte, a chain mail coif or haubergon. Be it a cloak, a hood, a coif, a chaperon, a bag, a belt or shoes as the people wore in the Middle Ages. Whether you need a historical wedding dress, a plain tunic, a Carolingian dress, a dress from the 11th century, a 12th century bag-sleeved dress and other historical garments or whether you need cloth, fabrics, brocade or borders, all these things you may find here. So let us embark on a journey into our History, into the Middle Ages!
